I was talking with my brother Alex about our top movies, and we had some huge differences in taste and opinion. I'm going to probably compile and share my top movies of all time in the next couple of days, so stay tuned for that. I have to think on it a bit....
What I DON'T have to think about is the worst movie I've ever seen. When I was in high school, my uncle Al was the voice of the "Moviephone" for the local Cinemark Movies 12. It was an unpaid position, I believe, but he had unlimited passes for him and his family to see any movie, which was actually pretty cool. My brother Alf and I would go with Tio Al quite a bit to check out some flicks, and generally, a good time was had...generally...
My mom's side of the family, which includes Tio Al, is full of voracious readers. We go through books like crazy, which I'll comment on some other time, but Al had read a Stephen King short story that he liked, and which was being turned into a movie, with Robert Englund (the guy who played Freddy Krueger) as the vehicle's star. The movie: The Mangler.
The plot, as listed in Wikipedia: "A police detective investigating a sudden rash of grisly deaths caused by an industrial laundry press machine discovers that, through a series of unfortunate coincidences, the machine has become possessed by a demon. The story ends after the detective and his friend underestimate the demon's power; and in seeking to exorcise the machine, they instead goad it into ripping free of its moorings and prowling the streets in search of fresh prey."
Yes, a laundry press, which means....a big iron. A plancha. It was supposed to be scary, it wasn't. It was supposed to be good....um, it wasn't. We walked out of there with those Wednesday, Thursday, Friday faces (get it, WTF?). Al was actually embarrassed that he took us to that movie...we thought of leaving once the third or fourth person got tooclose to the big ol' iron and got, um, mangled. Hello?! Anyway, apparently a The Mangler 2 was made, and then, The Mangler Reborn. I guess somebody liked the original then. I know we thought about asking for our money back, even though we hadn't paid....it was THAT BAD.
Second worst...The Blair Witch Project, but only because I left the theater with a headache from all the camera shaking. Anyway, what is the worst movie you've ever seen, and why? Anxious to hear some thoughts... :)

I'm not usually impressed with many movies, as I tend to like tv shows better, nor can I tell you off the top of my head which movie is the worst I've ever seen, other than Cabin Fever, which is up there, or should I say down?! Movies about objects that unrealistically come to life with an urge to kill, (like Mangler and Christine), SUCK. I am also not much of a fan of movies that include other plots of highly unrealistic things happening, with a only a very select few exceptions, such as Harry Potter. Blair Witch, I agree, wasn't all that great, as it gave me motion sickness too, and the most recent really bad movie I, rather, we saw' and I'm sure you'd agree, was "The Devil's Tomb." After watching Obsessed, I would also have to say that the movie was so bad, I wanted to get my dollar back from the RedBox!!! While Ali Larter plays a very good psychopath, Stringer Bell really needs to go back to dealing drugs and Beyonce should stop pretending to be an actress and concentrate on her singing instead.
